Ferrari Racing Days: New Orleans

Ferrari Racing Days will bring a celebration of the marque’s range of sporting activities to the NOLA Motorsports Park on October 2nd – 4th. The Ferrari Challenge will feature as the weekend’s premiere competition, while XX Programmes drivers will take for the first time to the track in North America their newest and fastest model, the FXX-K. To top off the incredible weekend, a number of F1 Clienti will take to the track to enjoy the Scuderia Ferrari’s finest racing machines. Ferrari Challenge, Homestead-Miami Speedway, Florida

The 2nd round Ferrari Challenge returned to South Florida for several days of racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The main races were held Saturday March 7th and Sunday March 8th. Both race 1 and 2 were dominated by pole-setter Emmanuel Anassis, who led every lap, driving the Ferrari Quebec entered car. Former champion Scott Tucker, in the Boardwalk Ferrari entered car, drove a strong race on both occasions, however, he was never able to get by, despite setting a new race lap record in Race 1, and finished 2nd in both races. Aside from the approximately 30 458 Challenge cars in the pit area, another 70 Ferraris could be seen in the spectator and paddock areas throughout the day on Saturday March 7th, including a brand new LaFerrari. Ferrari Challenge: Racing Beneath the Palm Trees

The Prancing Horse marque makes its return to the 2.21-mile road course of Homestead-Miami Speedway. Among the circuit’s eminent palm trees and sunny Florida skies, 27 drivers will advance to the second round in the 2015 North American season. In fact, this is the first time many of the drivers will be racing at the renowned Miami-based track as the Ferrari Challenge has not returned in more than three years. Five practice sessions are reserved for today in which the drivers will refine the final setup of their 458 Challenge EVOs before qualifications on Saturday. This is the first year the Finali Mondiali are being held at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. A spectacular backdrop against which the Ferrari 458 Challenge EVOs will thrill tifosi and enthusiasts in breath-taking wheel-to-wheel battles until the last corner. Finali Mondiali: Italy and the USA are the Best Represented Nations

A total of 75 drivers from 27 nations are en route to Abu Dhabi to bid for the three Ferrari Challenge series titles (Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific) and the World Champion crown in a race that will see all three groups competing on the same track. Looking down the list of participants, Italy is the best represented nation with 13 drivers. These include Daniele Di Amato and Dario Caso, who are competing in the Trofeo Pirelli Pro in Europe, and Massimiliano Bianchi, leader of the Coppa Shell in Europe. There are 10 US drivers in the running, not least Chris Ruud and Robert Herjavec, both exerting huge power in the Coppa Shell in North America. Anassis and Wei Sweep Weekend at Road America

The sixth round of the North American Ferrari Challenge came to a close today at the famed Road America circuit in Wisconsin. Following yesterday’s first place victory overall and for the Trofeo Pirelli class, Emmanuel Anassis of Ferrari of Quebec again finished on top of the podium steps. As the fastest qualifier today, Anassis marked the best lap time at 2:11:162 with a top speed of 109.771 mph. The rain delay in the middle of Race 2 forced Doug Peterson (Miller motorcars) to retire, leading to a tight contention for second place between Mexican Ricardo Perez (Ferrari of Houston) and Canadian Damon Ockey (Ferrari of Ontario). The North American Ferrari Challenge returns to Road America near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, for a weekend of thrilling racing. The last time the Challenge cars took to this famed track was four years ago and twenty-six drivers will again bring the 458 Challenge EVOs to the track, known for its high speeds and tight corners. The Mexican Ricardo Perez (Ferrari of Houston), winner of Race 2 at Mont Tremblant, leads the Trofeo Pirelli class with 145 points. The fifth round of the North American Ferrari Challenge came to end yesterday at Circuit-Mont Tremblant. The last race was closely fought as Ricardo Perez (Ferrari of Houston) and Emmanuel Anassis (Ferrari of Quebec) contended for the ultimate victory. Perez, who started yesterday’s race in pole position, was the winner and continues to lead the series with the overall drivers’ points. Anassis finished second and recorded the fastest lap time at 1.38.179. Ryan Ockey (Ferrari of Ontario) closed the set of Trofeo Pirelli winners with a third place finish, just ahead of Doug Peterson from Miller Motorcars. The Ferrari Challenge Europe hits the Czech Republic for the third round of the season, from Friday to Sunday at the Brno circuit. There are several track tyros ready to fight it out for the Trofeo Pirelli Pro win. Daniele Di Amato is the current leader on 63 points and his main rival should be the Austrian Philipp Baron, just one point behind. The second Northern California visit for the North America Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli saw twenty-seven examples of the Ferrari 458 Challenge Evoluzione battle at the world famous Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is a natural terrain road course just south of San Jose in Salinas, California. Among its many challenging corners is the world-famous Corkscrew, which plummets drivers 5 ½ stories in only 450 feet, providing a true test for the Ferrari 458 Challenge Evoluzione. The first race, held on Saturday afternoon, saw a pair of dominating victories in both the Trofeo Pirelli and Coppa Shell categories. Mugello hosts the second round of the Ferrari Challenge Europe this weekend and today was given over to free practice. The pressure ramps up tomorrow on the 5.245 kilometre track in Tuscany, as qualifying for the Coppa Shell gets underway at 9.55, with the Trofeo Pirelli runners going out at 11.15. The favourites came out on top in free practice today.
