An Extensive 14-month Restoration for an SWB

From Ferrari Classiche: 14 months of meticulous work – that’s how long it took the Ferrari Classiche Department to restore the engine, bodywork, suspensions and running gear of this 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione to pristine condition. The car arrived in Maranello in March of 2014 and work began in the summer of the same year, only finishing last week when it was returned to its delighted owner. According to the few documents available, the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione’s first owner was Dorino Serafini, a GT and Formula 1 driver who also delivered a podium position in the 1950 Italian Grand Prix for the Scuderia Ferrari. The 290 MM Wins at Amelia Island

A triumphant debut for the car restored by the Classiche department in 2014 The Ferrari 290 MM restored by the Classiche Department at the end of last year has made a triumphant return to competition, winning “The Chairman’s Choice Trophy for the Car Found Most Appealing by the Chairman” at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. Significantly, final approval for the award came from Honorary Chairman Sir Stirling Moss who himself won two races for the Temple Buell team in the 290 MM at the fourth Bahamas Speed Week in Nassau in 1957. The car will be at the Maranello Museum until the end of April The Ferrari Classiche department in Maranello has produced another masterpiece. It has sympathetically restored a Ferrari 212 Export Coupé Vignale to its former splendour. The car has an unusual history. It was built in April 1951, then in May, it was sold to Antonio Mambretti Sozogni Juva and a month later it was sold to the company of the Duke Cesare d’Acquarone. In fact, it was the Duke of Acquarone, who at the end of 1951, opted for a radical change of bodywork. The car, which was originally a hardtop, was transformed into a convertible or “Barchetta” by Vignale. Priceless 250 Testa Rossa Shown to Ferrari Employees

There was a surprise in store for Ferrari employees as they went for their lunch, as they discovered a 1958 250 Testa Rossa on display at the entrance to the company restaurant. The restoration of the car has just been finished by the staff of the Ferrari Classiche department. After a year of work in Maranello, the car whose value is put at somewhere between 20 and 25 million dollars, is being flown out to Pebble Beach, California for the prestigious Concours d’Elegance in mid-August, an event which every years brings together the most beautiful historic cars in the world. On 09 January 2014, at a reception at their new headquarters building in London, Bonhams announced that they have been given the privilege of offering the Ferrari 375 Plus, chassis s/n 0384 AM, at their sale at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, 2014. As anybody who watches classic Ferrari movements knows, this car has been the subject of a long running ownership dispute, which Bonhams have been instrumental in resolving, allowing the car to be offered for sale without any legal encumbrance hanging over it.
