Wide Variety of Ferraris at Amelia Island 2015

Held on March 15, 2015, the 20th Annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance saw an impressive display of automobiles covering a wide range of makes and models. Sir Stirling Moss was honored for the second time, becoming the first 2-time honoree, and a number of his former mounts were in attendance including the ‘722’ Mercedes Benz 300 SLR, W196, Ferrari 290 MM (s/n 0628), 250 TR61 (s/n 0794 TR), 250 GT Speciale (s/n 2643 GT) and 250 GTO (s/n 3505 GT) among others. In total, 28 Ferraris were displayed on the lawn. The 290 MM Wins at Amelia Island

A triumphant debut for the car restored by the Classiche department in 2014 The Ferrari 290 MM restored by the Classiche Department at the end of last year has made a triumphant return to competition, winning “The Chairman’s Choice Trophy for the Car Found Most Appealing by the Chairman” at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. Significantly, final approval for the award came from Honorary Chairman Sir Stirling Moss who himself won two races for the Temple Buell team in the 290 MM at the fourth Bahamas Speed Week in Nassau in 1957. Gooding at Amelia Sees Ferraris Strong

Held March 13, 2015 at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation, Gooding & Company’s auction achieved $11.7 million in Ferrari sales, with all 14 of 15 (93%) Ferraris offered finding new homes. The most expensive sale of the day belonged to the unrestored 275 GTB/4, s/n 09489, which sold for $3,300,000 (all prices include premium). Ferraris Set Records at RM Sotheby’s Amelia Auction

Held March 14, 2015 at the Ritz Carlton Resort Amelia Island, Florida, RM Sotheby’s auction achieved $16.2 million in Ferrari sales, with all 12 (100%) Ferraris offered finding new homes. The most expensive sale of the weekend across all auction houses belonged to RM when they sold 400 Superamerica Cabriolet, s/n 1945 SA, for $6,380,000 (all prices include premium). The 19th annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance was held on Sunday March 9, at its traditional location on the 10th and 18th fairways of The Golf Club of Amelia Island, adjacent to the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
