After deliberation by the Chief Class Judges, the recipient of the Scuderia Ferrari Cup for the Best of Show Competition Ferrari was the 1949 166 MM Touring Barchetta, s/n 0006 M, of Brian and Kimberly Ross. This car ran in several Mille Miglias in its early days, and has an excellent ownership history. It has won many Concours awards, at Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, and Villa d’Este, and won this same award at the Cavallino Classic VIII!

Also after deliberation by the Chief Class Judges, the recipient of the Gran Turismo Ferrari Cup for the Best of Show GT Ferrari was the 250 GT SWB, s/n 2033 GT, owned by Tex & Tambi Otto for thirty years. They just had the car restored to its original ivory with an amaranto stripe, and not only did it look spectacular, it was dead on perfect, with several small details often overlooked by other SWB owners.

The judging is rigorous at the Classic for those who choose to be judged. The IAC/ PFA system is tough but fair, with feedback to each owner. We thank the Judges for their time and effort. They are experts all, and are more than willing to help an owner make his Ferrari the best possible.

AN ABUNDANCE OF FERRARIS...

One of the most endearing aspects of the Cavallino Classic is the sheer number of Ferraris that show up to be a part of all the activities. From the start, the organizers have tried to make the Classic the one event that all Ferraris owners would want to attend, to show their Ferraris, to see other Ferraris, and to meet and greet other Ferraris owners and enthusiasts.

The response has been gratifying, with the numbers growing each year. The attendance lists are made up of: 1) all the entrants who apply to be part of the Classic; 2) all the extra Ferraris that owners and dealers bring down on their transports, and are on display in the paddock at the track; and, 3) all the Ferraris in the driveway and parking lots at The Breakers, Jet Aviation, and Mar-a-Lago.

FERRARIS FROM ALL ERAS...

There was an overwhelming variety of Ferraris, new and old. Even though the Cavallino Classic is considered an event catering to the older and more classic Ferraris, the majority of the models are from the now modern era: 11 599 GTBs, 6 Enzos, 35 F430s and 8 F430 Challenge cars, 13 Challenge Stradales, 24 360 models and 16 360 Challenge cars, 12 F355s and 14 F355 Challenge cars, 16 550 Maranellos, 10 F40s, 23 Flat-12 examples, etc. This is in addition to the many vintage Ferraris, including 7 166s, 4 TDFs, 9 SWBs, 4 GTOs, 4 TRs, 17 365s of all types, etc. We can never predict year to year what Ferraris will come, but come they do. We thank all the owners who have brought their Ferraris to the Classic this year, and years past, for all to enjoy.
