The sixteenth running of the
Cavallino Classic drew an eclectic mix of many stunning Ferraris to southern
Florida in late January. In this Ferrari’s sixtieth anniversary year, the event
celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the F40, the golden anniversary of the
250 Testa Rossa, and a special anniversary of the first timelessly elegant 166
MMs. For the attendees, the format followed the now well established and widely
appreciated procedure of track activity and inaugural rounds of the Ferrari
Maserati Historic Challenge at Moroso Motorsports Park, the Tour of Palm Beach,
the new Lecture Series, the Concorso d’Eleganza on the front lawn of the
sumptuous Breakers Hotel, together with a return of the charity benefit luncheon
at the exclusive Mar-a-Lago Club. These were the main automotive events,
accompanied by all the elegant peripheral social activity, including two awards
dinners, an artist reception, and the now infamous jet party. It was the largest
Classic to date, with a splendid and all embracing array of Ferraris, more than
400 in all, each with its proud and attentive owner. It was a good time, and
your hosts thank all for attending.
