The gala dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings are where the silverware is presented, that on Friday being for the Historic Challenge races plus the Coppa della Meccanica, and on Saturday it is the turn of the Concorso winners. On both evenings the atmosphere is perceptibly more raucous if there is a winner present at your table, although overall it is already one of great conviviality.

Taking Best of Show in the Competition Class – The Scuderia Ferrari Cup sponsored by Pirelli – was the vivacious and entertaining Carrera Panamericana 340/375 MM, s/n 0322 AM, of Jon Shirley, restored by Butch Dennison. Taking Best of Show in the GT Class – The Gran Turismo Cup sponsored by SunTrust – was the supremely fluid and stylish 375 MM Speciale, s/n 0490 AM, of Manny Del Arroz, restored by the men at Motion Products.

The Saturday dinner ends with a lively raffle, with each place setting having a numbered ticket for the draw, in which there were a large variety of very desirable prizes presented by the numerous sponsors, with Maestro di Feste Jay Weitzel, aided by his wife Denise, spicing up the presentation action in his own inimitable style.

And so the Classic ended, but not quite….
