TRACK WORKOUT, PART II

BY MITCHELL KLEIN

On the Thursday and Friday, there were further participant runs for different categories at Moroso, and these are the days when all the transporters really open up and disgorged their huge variety of Ferraris. Name a Ferrari, and it was there on track, from some of the oldest racing examples right up to the latest 360 GT machines. But it wasn’t all race cars having the fun, as the days are actually the time for many street Ferraris to open up and show their potential. Again, there was every model imaginable, from the oldest street Ferraris right up to the 360 Spiders, 550 Barchettas, and 575Ms of late. The most popular cars overall were the 355 and early 360 Challenge cars, now no longer raced but the perfect car for these types of more casual events.

The drivers are split into two groups – GT for the regular drivers who just want to have some serious fun, and Sport for the drivers who have been to a high speed school. Each group alternates every one-half hour each day, and this keeps everyone at their appropriate speed and skill level.

We wish to thank everyone at Moroso Motorsports Park for making our four days there the most agreeable by having the facility in such excellent shape, and also Pirelli Tires, Tubistyle Exhausts, and Hagerty Insurance for all the work they do behind the scenes to make the track portion a reality.
