Concours on the Avenue Begins Monterey Week
The streets of Carmel were lined with glamorous and exciting cars again this year on the Tuesday, the 12th, and the attendees were very grateful for this chance to see some truly wonderful cars in the charming setting of Carmel. Concours on the Avenue has become the lead-off car event of the huge Monterey Week.
Founders Doug and Genie Freedman continue to host this eclectic array of marques, with a nice mix of American, British and Continental cars, plus the regular crowd-pleasers like Hot Rods, Muscle Cars and Motorcycles. The event covers nearly all of Ocean Avenue, and has grown up the side streets as well. The casual atmosphere of this show is appreciated, but one should not overlook the thoroughness of the organization, the quality of the cars, and the seriousness of the judging.
Ferraris were a big part of the event, and more information and a complete list of Ferrari entrants will be in Cavallino 203.
