Ferrari 275′s Featured at the Cavallino Classic
At the recent Cavallino Classic, the 50th Anniversary of the introduction of the model 275 was featured and there were 22 examples from all over the country, including GTB, GTB/4, GTB/C and a NART Spyder. Leading the lineup was the 1965 275 GTB Comp, s/n 6885, probably the most famous 275 in the world. Owned by connoisseur Preston Henn, and subject of a recent book by David Williams, this is the very car that was Third Overall (a tremendous feat against all the sports racers and prototypes) and First in GT Class at the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans, entered by Ecurie Francorchamps and driven by Willy Mairesse and Jean Blaton (Beurlys). At the Cavallino Classic Concorso d’Eleganza, it won the 275 GTB Competition Cup.
